Osteopathy during or after pregnancy

Various physical complaints can arise during pregnancy. These can be caused by hormonal changes but also by mechanical pressure from the growing baby and thus changing proportions. There may be complaints in the lower/upper back or around the pelvis. These can be treated with gentle techniques that reduce complaints. Complaints such as heartburn or constipation can also be relieved with gentle techniques. Tingling hands caused by fluid accumulation can also be treated with osteopathy.

Turning a breech baby should not be performed by an osteopath. It must be performed by a gynecologist in a hospital with (ultrasound) equipment to monitor the baby.
